Matthew Toye Admittedly I'm very particular about funeral doom. Usually it's too slow for me. But this is something I can get behind. 'The Monad of Creation' is slow, but not for the sake of it. It's almost meditative. A stunning album. Favorite track: Mother-Water, The Great Sea Wept.

tylerbelisle A funeral doom masterpiece. A truly moving and beautiful record, a landmark of the genre. Bass and acoustic guitars in particular stand out here, as Mournful Congregation create deep, somber riffs that vocalist Damon Good growls and croons over, both done excellently. Monad is never slow just to be slow, every minute on this hour long journey feels masterfully crafted. Favorite track: Mother-Water, The Great Sea Wept.
